VIC SOTTO AND DARRYL YAP ENGAGES IN A LEGAL BATTLE REGARDING A FILM ABOUT PEPSI PALOMA

It's been a week full of legal battle between noontime show icon and ace comedian Vic Sotto and controversial film director Darryl Yap.

This comes after Yap last January 1 (Wednesday) posted a teaser of his new film, "The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma" wherein Sotto's name has been mentioned as the "rapist" of the late 80s sexy star.

Sotto, together with fellow hosts Joey de Leon and the late Richie D' Horsie was accused by Pepsi Paloma and fellow sexy actress Guada Guarin of raping them in August 1982, but the case was eventually dropped.

Accompanied by his wife, Pauleen Luna-Sotto and his legal counsel led by Atty. Enrique dela Cruz, Sotto filed a 19-counts of cyberlibel as well as a request for Writ of Habeas Data with a damages amounting to ₱35 million against film director Darryl Yap last January 9, (Thursday) at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 205.

In an interview with media, Sotto said that the "rape threats" received by his wife as well as the bullying being experienced by their daughter, Tali caused him to file charges against Yap.

On the other hand, Yap together with his legal team led by Atty. Raymond Fortun filed a request for a "gag order" against Sotto's request for Writ of Habeas Data.

Yap said through his legal counsel that he has no intention of tarnishing Sotto's image to the public adding that Yap forwarded a script to Sotto for his film.

The hearing between Sotto and Yap is scheduled on January 15 (Wednesday).
