UNFAIR TREATMENT?: CHINO TRINIDAD CRITICIZED TV5, ZOE AND ABS-CBN FOR THE SUDDEN PULL-OUT OF PBA ON A2Z

Veteran news personality and former PBA commentator Chino Trinidad can't hide his disappointment on the decision of Sports5 and TV5 to pull the plug on the airing of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) on A2Z.

PBA has been airing on A2Z since November 5, 2023 and concluded last February 11, 2024 to give way for its exclusive airing on RPTV, a free-to-air network of Nine Media Corporation and Radio Philippines Network in partnership with TV5's parent company, MediaQuest Holdings.

Trinidad said that the decision of TV5, Sports5 as well as ABS-CBN Corporation and ZOE Broadcasting Network is a direct slap to the face of PBA.

"The PBA doesn't deserve to be treated this way. You're the top basketball league in the country yet you are nowhere to be found," Trinidad said.

He added, "Wala ka nang viewers, mababa na nga viewership mo, tapos hindi pa alam kung saan ka papanoorin."

The veteran news commentator also said that ABS-CBN and ZOE as well as TV5 should have let PBA finish the finals before once again occupying the complete programming grid of A2Z.

Trinidad also criticized TV5 saying that its move to exclusively air PBA games on RPTV is not publicized as its transfer to A2Z.

He also voiced out disappointments on GMA Sports when they initiated AI based feature highlights in social media calling GMA Sports officials 'bobo'.

“You want unfiltered ‘di ba? So stupid the guys running sports ng GMA is or are. Bakit? Sports is spontaneous. It’s about reaction. It’s about emotion. ‘Yong AI meron ba no’ng tatlong ‘yon?”, Trinidad said.

  1. Chino needs to understand that it’s still a business, if it’s not bringing food to the table then what is this expenses for. Furthermore, this ballgame is no longer with sense as it is only a tournament of 2 parties. The other teams are only but an
