"Big Night"! received most awards at the 2021 MMFF Awards Night


The 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival's awards night was conducted successfully tonight, December 27 at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura Premier.

The dark comedy film "Big Night," produced by Cignal Entertainment, Quantum Films, The IdeaFirst Company, and October Train Films, was the big winner.

At the festival, it took home eight awards, including Best Actor for Christian Bables, Best Director for Jun Lana, and Best Picture.

They also won Best Music, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, and the Gender Sensitivity Award and Best Supporting Actor for John Arcilla.

 At the MMFF Gabi Ng Parangal, Black Sheep's "Kun Maupay Man It Panahon" won seven honors.

Charo Santos won Best Actress, Rans Rifol won Best Supporting Actress, Daniel Padilla won Special Jury Prize, and the 2nd Best Picture award went to Daniel Padilla.

They also took home the Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award for Best Visual Effects, Best Production Design, and Best Visual Effects.

Viva Films' action film A Hard Day, on the other hand, took home four trophies.

This is the Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award for Best Editing, Best Sound, and 3rd Best Picture.

"Huling Ulan sa Tag-Araw" by Heaven's Best Entertainment and "Huwag Kang Lalabas" by Obra Cinema and CineKo Productions received one award each.

"Huling Ulan Sa Tag-Araw" is the best theme song, and "Huwag Kang Lalabas" is the best float.

The MMFF Creator Jury's Choice Award went to the short film "Kandado."

Former MMDA Chairman Danny Lim, National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera, and actress Rosa Rosal received special attention.

There will be 8 entries available for the 2021 MMFF until January 7, 2022.
