Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav and Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish met on Tuesday, December 19,2023, to discuss a possible merger with 2 companies. The scope of the meeting was to combine into one giant news and entertainment industry consolidation.
With this deal, it has the synergy to combine CBS News and CNN to create a global news powerhouse; CBS Sports and WBD’s Turner Sports, which televised NBA games, could dominate broadcast rights on this proposed transaction; and Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network may join forces to create a better cartoon viewing habit.
This was reported by Axios, CNBC and Variety about the meeting with two well known US media companies.
Nickelodeon is owned by Paramount while both Cartoon Network and CNN are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. The said TV channels are also viewable in the Philippines via cable or satellite services like Cignal TV.
