The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has banned the airing of One News program "Private Convos with Doc Rica".
In a statement released today, January 30, the agency noted that they have decided to ban the said program for violating some provisions particularly Section 3 of the Presidential Decree No. 1986 and Section 2, Article 4 and Section 8 Article 5 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the said presidential decree.
The agency also noted that the 'unnecessary use of language and themes' was also the reason why they included the program in the "Monitoring and Inspection Unit (MUI)" that was submitted to MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto last August 24, 2023.
On her X (formerly known as Twitter) account that was posted last September 2023, the program's host Doc Rica Cruz expressed her shock and dismay on the agency's decision to sanction the program.
Despite this, Private Convos with Doc Rica is a part of One News' program block Long Conversation is still available for podcast streaming on Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Spotify and YouTube.
