Kapatid Insider Talks with MediaQuest | RPTV Programming, Sports on Channel 9, and More.

In a rare opportunity, Mediaquest Holdings gave Kapatid Insider an insight of what's in-store for TV5's newest free-to-air channel RPTV

According to Mediaquest, RPTV Channel 9, a free-to-air channel of TV5 with Nine Media Corporation as it's partner will be the home of the best-of-the-best alternative programming for every Filipino in terms of entertainment, sports, news and public service programs.

RPTV will also be the exclusive home of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) starting February 14, as well as another home for TV5 hit programs such as Wanted sa Radyo, Frontline Tonight, Gud Morning Kapatid, Ted Failon at DJ ChaCha sa Radyo5 and Eat... Bulaga!.


Programs of the former CNN Philippines locally produced by Nine Media Corporation such as Building Bridges and The Story of the Filipino will also be part of RPTV's programming line-up.


RPTV will also be the home of the best sporting events in the country like the Philippine Volleyball League (PVL). 

As for it's name, RPTV is derived from RP which stands for Radio Philippines Network, the TV station who operates Channel 9 and TV for TV5 which will serve as the channel's main content provider.


On the other hand, TV5 President Guido Zaballero said that they are hopeful that once RPTV gains a solid audience bulk, TV5 will make new and original contents for the said channel.
